LOKI plankton images sampled off the peruvian coast

Images presented here were sampled by vertical hauls with the LOKI system off the Peruvian coast during a cruise with research vessel Meteor (Cruise M77, leg 4) from January 30th to February 12th 2009.
Hauls were taken from a maximum of 500 m depth to surface with the net-equipped imaging unit (200 µm mesh size, mouth opening 0.09 m², see 'LOKI - Technical overview'). In addition to scientific investigations best images were chosen for this gallery.
